Can ct220 be used as a current sensor?

CT220 achieves a maximum of ±0.5% linearity error over a ±20 mT-range magnetic field, under the full temperature range of –40°C to 125°C without any active temperature compensa-tion circuitry. To be used as a current sensor, CT220 needs to be able to sense the magnetic field generated by the current as it flows through a conductor.

How does ct220 work?

The chip measures the magnetic field of the current through the package and converts it to an analog signal that is equivalent to the current flowing through the printed circuit board (PCB) trace. The FLAG output indicates whether there is an over-current condition seen by CT220 during operation and will alert the host system.
