Solar System

Astronomers sometimes divide the Solar System structure into separate regions. The inner Solar System includes Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and the bodies in the asteroid belt.

The inner Solar System is the region comprising the terrestrial planets and the asteroids. Composed mainly of silicates and metals, the objects of the inner Solar System are relatively close to the Sun; the radius of this entire region is less than the distance between the orbits of Jupiter and Saturn. This region is within the frost line, which is a little less than 5 AU from the Sun.

The Solar System – British Astronomical Association

Our Solar system can conveniently, be divided, into two halves, which are named. The Inner Solar System, is made up of the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and finally the Asteroid belt.

Solar System – Definition, Facts, Planets

The Solar System is the gravitationally bound system comprising the Sun and all natural objects that orbit it either directly or indirectly. This includes the eight planets, their moons, dwarf

Ch. 7 Summary

Our solar system currently consists of the Sun, eight planets, five dwarf planets, some 430 known moons, and a host of smaller objects. The planets can be divided into two groups: the inner

Solar System: Planets, Moons, and the Sun Explained

They are traditionally divided into two categories: the four terrestrial planets —Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars—and the four gas and ice giants —Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

The Solar System

The Solar System is a region of space that contains the Sun, eight major planets including Earth, plus numerous moons, asteroids, meteoroids and comets.

Science 101: The Solar System

Revolving around the sun are eight planets. The planets are divided into two categories based on their composition, terrestrial and Jovian. Terrestrial planets, including Mercury, Venus,
